Hello everyone! Back in the community after a long break, and I'm excited to introduce the AI Learning Guide -SIM Studio released by ServiceNow University at Knowledge 2026 to enhance our learning experience.
Today's problem:
Learning ServiceNow has always required a hands-on practice and completing On-demand courses requires "Lab" completions but following instructions from a PDF which wasn't the most efficient experience in today's world. That changes today, as the ServiceNow University team introduces a smarter way to learn.
What is it?
AI Learning Guide is an contextual and interactive, AI-powered coaching experience built directly on lab instances. Powered by Now Assist and built using SIM Studio, it acts as your personal AI coach while you perform hands-on lab tasks — guiding you, answering your questions, and validating your progress in real time.
How does it work?
Once, you enrolled for the Guided Simulation course and when you open a lab instance, Now Assist automatically appears pinned on the right side of your screen with a warm welcome message, ready to guide you through your learning journey from starting till you complete the lab instances for the registered course.
Gone are the days of switching between a PDF and your lab instance. Everything you need is now in one place!
What you can do with it?
While working through your lab tasks, the AILG empowers you to:
Ask Questions: 💬
Stuck on a ServiceNow concept? You can ask anything related to the platform and get instant answers.
NOTE: AILG is limited to answer only ServiceNow platform related questions while during your lab. For example, What is a client script? Look, the demo video below:
Get Hints: 💡
Not sure what to do next? Request a hint by clicking on 'Show Hint' and the AI coach will guide you based on your actual activity in the instance.
Validate Your Task: ✅
Once you've completed a Lab, simply hit 'Validate Task' button and the AILG will confirm your work and unlock your next task.
Revisit Instructions: 🔙
Need to go back and review a previous task? No problem - previous lab instructions are always accessible by clicking on 'View all tasks' and select the previous Lab wich you want to review.
Structured progression: 🔒
Tasks are unlocked one at a time, ensuring you build skills step by step before moving forward.
