I am looking for a way to automate Consumption Rules on Imported Entitlements.
I am working with an Instance of ServiceNow SAMPro, that is global in nature. In other words, one software model, and many, many entitlements, each having to be company, location, or department specific.
On importing entitlements, I am needing to manually go to each and select the appropriate consumption rule. As a long shot, I tried adding it to the Entitlement Template, no luck ! My latest import was close to @ 70 entitlements, so manually going back and adding consumption rules individually is painful.
Currently, I am trying out flow designer, as I can take the Company and Department values from alm_license, create the rule for which consumption rule is applicable, and 'insert' records into samp_sw_ent_consumption_rule table, but that is even tough as the samp_sw_ent_consumption_rule table has one column for 'Software Entitlement'
Anyway, if anyone has approached this with any success, I would appreciate hearing how you accomplished it.
(PS, this would be as sam_admin, as engaging the platform or dev team would take far longer than doing this manually)
