Clarification on "License Duration" in the Entitlement Form

Hi All

I noticed the License Duration field in the entitlement form seems similar to the License Type field. Can someone clarify the real-world use case for the License Duration field? How does it differ from License Type, and when would both be used together?

Hi @satheeshnkl,

To be honest, I have never seen or used the field in my four years with SAM Pro, nor has it been addressed in training or support cases. I suspect that it is an old field (possibly from SAM Foundation or the first SAM Pro releases).

The field description is as follows: “Identifies whether the entitlements is for a subscription time period or owned perpetually”.

Since it is also not in any of the SAM Pro Entitlement Standard views, I personally would not give this field any further attention. @DD786 or @SrinivasRamanu1  are welcome to add something about this field from a product perspective.
