How should we define a criteria to exclude those devices from license calculation

There is no defined process of HAM in customer environment,  which means they are not managing the status of devices in servicenow.And the inactive devices will also consume sam licenses.How should we define a criteria to exclude those devices from license calculation

Hi @kiran kumar m1 , please keep in mind, that the exclusion does not solve the problem of thousands of outdated sw install records - sure it will exclude but records are still there. 

if customer is not using the logic/lifecycle - please check if you could use it and set the Install state to “Retired” for these devices, to trigger the automated BR to remove software.

I've hit this problem many times. The best solution is to set up a CMDB data policy that removes software installation records from devices that haven't been discovered for a certain period of time, e.g, 30 or 60 days.
