How to pull software installed by users not through the admin rights.

Hi Team,

 

We have SG-SCCM software to get all the installed software record details from the user’s PC . But we couldn’t see a few software records in the software installation even though that specific software was installed on the user’s machine.

 

Then when we contacted the SCCM team, they said software installed by users is not reported by SCCM. As this is not tracked natively by SCCM's hardware inventory, as it is designed for per-machine installs. In general, it only tracks programs that require admin rights to install, which would be available to any account signed into the PC. Is this something that is a gap in ServiceNow? How are the other customers managing these kinds of scenarios?

Hi @Nayan Mahato,

it‘s not a gap of ServiceNow, data is missing on SCCM due to the mentioned limitations of not scanning user based folders.

 

similar to adobe and sql edition detection an SCCM adjustment is required to get the data into the SCCM database for further processing.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I got it, as this is an SCCM limitation. I just wanted to know if someone came across this scenario and how they implemented it in ServiceNow.
