M365 user subscriptions without publisher - Reconciliation issue

Hi Experts,

i integration the M365 profil and we are pulling the accounts and subscription. However, the subscription are coming without "microsoft" in the publisher field.

Thus the reconciliation isnt done properly: a softwaremodell is automatically created but without publisher. in the Compliance, those SW.modells arent take into consideration and those Sw.Model arent editable.

any best practice?

Regards

Franck

Hi @FranckM,

Microsoft 365 reconciliation depends on proper normalization, publisher mapping, and Content Library recognition.

If M365 subscriptions are imported without Publisher = Microsoft, SAM creates auto-generated Software Models that are excluded from compliance calculations because they are not properly normalized.

  • Update the SAM Content Library
  • Verify SaaS normalization/mapping jobs completed successfully
  • Validate Microsoft SKU mapping from the integration
  • Re-run reconciliation after normalization

The most common root cause is:

Missing or outdated Content Library / normalization mapping

reconciliation-generated Software Models are system-managed and may not be editable until properly normalized.

  1. Update Content Library
  2. Run normalization jobs
  3. Re-run SaaS reconciliation
  4. Remove orphan/unmapped models if still unused

Avoid manually editing system-generated Software Models.

I did all the checks but still have the issue.

What is strange is, i get some products from the M365 console "with a Manufacturer" but for some others "Without a Manufacturer" what might be the reason?

Those entries are now not normalized

Should i create a DMAP without Manufacturer also and map it to the right Softwaremodell ?

is the issue may be related to the saas normalisation?

is this the saas normalisation job on the picture bellow?

Hi @FranckM ,

could you please share a screenshot of the records you are missing details. As per design, M365 collects user subscription details (UPN; eMail) and the subscription_identifier from the M365 portal. The link between identifier and software product (software model + DMAP) is managed by the SAM content library. Please add the column "subscription identifier" to your screenshot for troubleshooting.

The mapping table is called "samp_sw_subscription_product_definition"
