Hello All,

Can anyone help me to understand the exact definition of these field in the entitlement import template?

Wanted to understand the use of Condition Name and Unit of Consumption so that I can we decide if I can skip or need to update these field.
I tried to find these in SAM Pro entitlement import guide, however, I couldn't find relevant information there for these two attribute.

I am using Xenadu version.

Here's an answer if you are still looking, and for anyone else who may find this thread in the future. Condition Name and Unit of Consumption are both fields on the Software Model table (cmdb_software_product_model).

  • Condition Name refers to the name of a Condition on the Software Model which targets specific installs or subscriptions. Often there are scenarios where customers have multiple Software Models for the same publisher/product/version/edition and the only difference is the Condition, allowing them to manage licensing with more granularity. Example: one Software Model with condition name "Marketing" which returns installs only if the Assigned To user is in the Marketing department. Another model for the same product with a condition name "Non-Marketing" to target all users outside Marketing. Having the Condition Name on the entitlement import allows you to specify which Software Model you want the entitlement loaded against.
  • Unit of Consumption applies when the associated License Type on the entitlement is "SaaS Consumption". A common example is DocuSign where the Unit of Consumption would be "Envelopes".
