Hi Everyone,
I am new to ServiceNow SAM Pro and am currently learning it from scratch.
I'm looking for guidance on the end-to-end investigation approach followed by experienced SAM analysts.
For example, if a Publisher or Product is showing Non-Compliant, what is the typical investigation flow?
- Which screen do you start with?
- What key fields do you check first?
- Which screens do you navigate to next (License Position, Software Model, Entitlements, Discovery Model, Installs Requiring Action, Reconciliation, etc.)?
- What findings indicate a licensing issue versus a discovery/configuration/normalization issue?
- How do you determine the root cause and decide on the appropriate remediation?
I'm not looking for documentation on individual features, but rather a real-world troubleshooting workflow or case study that explains how an experienced SAM analyst investigates a non-compliance issue from start to finish.
If anyone has a flowchart, checklist, SOP, KT material, or can share their practical approach, I would greatly appreciate it.
