we are not pulling usage data for AutoCAD properly. We need to run a POC solution to be able to track the usage of AutoCAD application.
What I’m try to imply is collecting the sw usage from end-points (laptops, vdis). I need to know what is in place and where we lacked and if there is a need to build a custom solution for that. If YES, then why (Need detail technical justification)

( probable High level plan)
1.Ensure AutoCAD is identified on your endpoints.
- Use ServiceNow Discovery or the Agent Client Collector (ACC-V) to scan laptops and desktops.
- This populates the Software Installations table and links the AutoCAD application to specific Configuration Items (CIs)
2. Utilize ServiceNow Software Usage to track when AutoCAD was last opened and how frequently it is accessed.

How will you gather the usage data from the license server with your approach? Presence of the application and having it open will not reflect real license consumption.

Hi @mastan babu ko1,
SAM comes with a solution for engineering software, like AutoCAD.
I've invested it couple of times, but it seems to be complicated because you rely on 3rd-party applications (OpenLM or Open IT), that connect your AutoCAD license server with ServiceNow. In case you have them already in place, fine; if not, you might need to allocate additional budget for it.
Hope this helps!
