I would like to associate user created preferred solution with third party entries and VITS. We currently have the solutions management subscription with VR. I have created about 300 Preferred solutions. I do not want to use the Microsoft and RedHat Preferred solutions as we have a patching process and do not want users to download KBs and patches directly from the internet. I also would like our preferred solutions to override or replace the Microsoft and Redhat preferred solutions. I have tried using the vulnerability entry classification rules with the following conditions like this:
If third party entry product contains “Chrome” set Preferred Solution as VSxxxxxxx (Solution for chrome)
I have had mixed results as some Third-Party Entries and VITS have the user created the preferred solution and some do not.
- Is there a reason for this?
- I would like to know the best approach to solve this problem.
