Once an individual attains the CSA cert, is the next required cert the CIS-ITSM?   Must an individual attain the CIS-ITSM prior to qualifying to sit for the CIS-VR exam?

I don't see any mention to any pre-requisites for the CIS-VR certification.

Jarod,

Your look at the main path page.   If you look at the actual blueprint for CIS-VR, you will see the CSA, CIS-ITSM is suggested and ITIL cert (recommended).

However, as I stated via an update for another community member, ServiceNow responded by stating that one can directory go from CSA exam --> to CIS-VR.   Just wish they did not confuse folks by stating that concretely in their CIS-VR blueprint.

Hi Massih,

I can confirm that CIS-ITSM is not required to register CIS-VR. If you go to the Kryterion Webassessor website to register for the exam, you'll see that there is no pre-requisites.

Also, more Security Operation specialized CIS courses and certifications are probably coming in 2018: Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, GRC, Vendor Risk Management.

Shiva,

If you look at my response to Jarod, I did state that the CIS-ITSM is not needed.   However, my point was in the CIS-VR Blueprint states the "required" exams are CIS-ITSM, that should be corrected by ServiceNow, so that folks don't look at the blueprint and assume that you have to take the CIS-ITSM prior to CIS-VR or other Security certs coming out in 20-18 like CIS-SIR and Threat...etc   If the following truly don't apply, then take them out of the Blueprint.
