Configuration Item field on a Remediation Task

Newbie warning, may be a daft question...

Under what circumstances is the Configuration Item field on a Remediation Task populated?

None of ours are and where the VIT to VUL mapping is 1:1 it would seem reasonable that it should be.

Thank you!

It is possible to have Remediation Tasks be created in a format of multiple VITs to a VUL.  I.E. you could create a Remediation Task that groups up VITs by Assignment Group.  In that scenario you could have multiple different Configuration Items on the VITs inside the single Remediation Task

Thanks Matt, I understand that. I'm trying to understand why have the field there at all if it is never populated?

There are no "daft" questions IMHO. I always find it helpful to see what questions other users have, and more often than not I learn something from them. In my experience using CC, the Remediation Task is populated with Control Test Results, based on the conditions met when the Remediation Task is created. The CTRs will have the Control Test and the Configuration Item in them.
