Remediation target date is not getting updated for existing VITs record

Hi All,

We have created one new Remediation target rule, but it is getting applied to the new records not for the existing ones. Also, executed the scheduled job for it, but still the target date is not getting updated.

Remediation target rule:

VIT Record:

Last opened is 7th March, and according to remediation target rule, the target date should get updated to 22nd March.

Please advice!

1. Did you try Apply Changes from the Target Rule list? Navigate to Remediation Target Rules List view and click the Apply Changes UI Action.

2. Did you look at Background Job history to verify that the Reapply Target Rule jobs completed successfully? Navigate to YOURINSTANCE/now/nav/ui/classic/params/target/sn_sec_cmn_background_job_list.do and look for Job Type = Reapply vulnerability remediation rules (VIT).

3. What version of VR are you on? There was a fix in 21.0.4, "Resolved last opened date field on VIT to be not older than the created date", that could be related to your issue.

4. You could also try re-creating your Target Rule then Reapplying.

Hi Martin,

I checked from my end. I did try Applying changes from Target Rule list but it did not work.

Also, the job is in 'Queued' state from morning. It might be the reason the remediation target date did not get updated for existing records.

Version is 21.0.3.

Can you share the link of the fix?

Thanks!

If the Job is in queued state it could mean it is still running. Do you know how many records you are expecting to be updated? Per the background job config info you might be able to change these values around to better suit your amount of records.

Apologies, it looks like in 21.0.3 that was fixed not 21.0.4. (https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/store-release-notes/page/release-notes/store/security-operations/...).
