Vulnerability Response: has anyone converted VITs to AVIT, CVIT, etc.?

I have a customer who has used VR for all types of vulnerabilities. She asked the question about what would be the best practice for introducing App VR, Container VR, etc. Have any customers converted from using VITs to AVITs and CVITS? Or is it recommended to just go forward, net new?
