Record Producer “Save as Draft” not available when used in Order Guide (Service Portal)

Hi all,

I am using a Record Producer as a Rule Base Item inside an Order Guide in Service Portal.

The “Save as Draft” option is enabled on the Record Producer (using the out-of-the-box draft functionality). When the Record Producer is accessed directly, the standard UI renders correctly and the Save as Draft option is available.

However, when the same Record Producer is accessed through the Order Guide, the Save as Draft button on the record producer is not rendered. It seems the Order Guide wrapper overrides the native Record Producer experience.

My question is:
Is the Record Producer “Save as Draft” functionality officially supported when the Record Producer is used inside an Order Guide?
If not, are there any supported workarounds or best practices to enable draft capability in this scenario?

Thank you!

Hi @InesS5282715477

No, you cannot save a Record Producer as a draft. This is because a Record Producer does not have its own record type or table to store data. Its sole purpose is to create a record on a target table.

However, you can implement a solution where the record created on the target table is saved in a draft state. In that case, you must ensure that the user has the ability to open and edit the target record before making the final submission.
