Deploy Azure Monitoring Agent and then enable change tracking and inventory using AMA for Azure

Hi All,

 

I would like to seek your guidance regarding the setup of the Service Graph Connector for Azure. As per the prerequisites, we need the following information:

For Hardware: 

  • Application (client) ID
  • Client Secret
  • Directory (tenant) ID

For Software:

  • Configure the Log Analytics workspace in the Azure client application,
  • Deploy Azure Monitoring Agent (AMA), and then enable change tracking and inventory using AMA
  • Deploy Dependency Agent as part of VM insights to collect discovered data about VM processes and their connections.

Additionally, the client has inquired about the actual use of deploying the Monitoring Agent, enabling Change Tracking, and using the Dependency Agent for Azure. They would like to know the implications of not having these configurations set up.

 

Could anyone help clarify what ServiceNow will be able to discover with the above configurations, and what limitations we might face without them?

Thank you for your suggestion. I have already reviewed the articles and documentation you provided, but I would like to address a concern from a business perspective. Our client has raised an issue regarding the deployment of the dependency agent, stating that it is a significant request to implement it across every subscription.

Could you please clarify the actual use of the dependency agent in your ServiceNow platform? Understanding its benefits may help address the client's concerns.
