How to create user in global domain?

Hello,

I have global separation enabled in my instance and have multiple domains created in it. When I am trying to create new user in it it is going to by default in TOP/MSP/Default domain. I even tried to override it in the list but of no use. Also there were some users that were created in global domain earlier but when I am resetting its password the domain is getting changed to TOP/MSP/Default. Any guess as why is this happening?

I have used this link for visibility domain for individual user but it is not helping me to create user in global domain. (https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/kingston-platform-administration/page/administer/company-and-domain-separation/task/t_GrVisDomIndUser.html)

Can anyone please suggest how to create user in global domain when domain separation is enabled in the instance?

Thanks.

Hi,

"If no domain is set as Default, Tasks and Users with no domain are placed in the global domain."

Thus simply open TOP/MSP/Default domain and uncheck the "Default" field on the form.

That's all.

With best regards, Dzmitry

@s.karpe   if you or others need to know the answer to this what you have to do is create the user in your normal method then back to the user record form or list ensuring the 'Managed Domain' & Domain fields/columns are on show and set 'managed Domain' from 'false' to 'True'.  Now you can change the  domain to 'global' or whatever you want.

Don't change back to 'False' though as the domain will revert back to what is was before
