How to do snapshot reporting? Moving field data to another table on a scheduled basis.

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know how I do snapshot reporting?

What I mean is... I want to set up a table e.g. consumed time and every day schedule something where the data from fields in the contract populates it.

I want, 

Date, contract, company, value

Any ideas?

Hi Andrew,

 

Not quite sure on your requirements here but you could create your custom table and then set up a scheduled job to go through your contract table and insert a new record into your custom table with the values you need to store? 

I'm pretty sure performance analytics has ways of producing reports like this but you will of course need to buy the app first.

Basically I need a snapshot of what a fields value is on a daily basis and store that in a custom table along with the date, company name and contract number.

Its I can represent a burn rate on a report against consumption. Would this require a plug in? 

I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I think your best bet is to create the custom table and then see if you're able to produce the report you need. If you can't get the required report from the standard report application then you might need Performance Analytics, you can activate it on your personal developer instance so you can test and confirm it will fulfill your requirements.
