Hi Community,
I have a Service Catalog variable of type Select Box with manually defined choices. Some of the choice labels are quite lengthy, and I'm observing display/usability limitations in the catalog form.
I'm trying to understand:
- Is there a documented maximum character length for a choice label/value in a Catalog Select Box variable?
- Are there any official ServiceNow documents or KB articles that describe the supported length for choice values?
- What is the recommended approach when business requirements require long descriptive options in a dropdown?
It truncates the label to 80-character length

Hello @EmmadishettV ,
This happens because the Max length defined on the Text field is set to 80 by default. I have attached a image below for reference.

the max length is 80, try to keep the label small
it comes from the text field on "question_choice" table which holds the Choice label
I won't recommend increasing the length on OOTB field
