Report editor settings

Hi all,

 

I have a tendency to create complex reports in ServiceNow that take a long time to run. Now I am not asking you for optimization tips, but there would be one thing that would really help me:

 

How can I make it so that the report does not start running when I open the editor, but only when I press the run button....

 

I am hoping there is a setting for this, I now always have to wait for the report to run once, before I can start editing the conditions. Often this is a couple of minutes wait.

Hi @Robert van Mil1 

Are you using Data Visualization or the legacy reporting module? I think in both, until you hit the Run button, the report will not execute. If I remember correctly, when you log a regular report, it runs once, and then if you make changes, you need to hit the Run button again to see the updated results.”

So,

 

I want to skip that ",it runs once," part.

I don’t think we can do that, as it is by design and might be part of the core code, which is not accessible to us. It’s better to log a Now Support case
