I am looking for some information on RFID asset tagging and the ability to scan RFID using the ServiceNow mobile app.
We are looking to setup facility assets and are interested in using RFID tagging to tag our facility assets. I know that starting in Geneva, we have the ability to do barcode scanning using the SN mobile app by enabling the barcode attribute on string fields. However, I couldn't find any information on how to RFID scanning could be enabled. If anyone has any experience or information on this, please let me know.
Thanks,
Johnny

Hi Johnny,
At this time the mobile app does not do anything with RFID as there is a hardware component that would be required for this. As far as I know, RFID today would require integration with an RFID reader. There are definitely partners that support this, such as AssetTrack ® 4 IT Asset Tracking Solution for ServiceNow.

Hi all,
This post is 2 years old, so I was hoping to bump it a bit to see if this is still the recommended path for begin using barcode scanners for asset management.
Is there a way to use a barcode scanner to pass this value to a text field without using a third party software? And if not, is AssetTrack still the recommended way to do this?
Thanks,
Robert

NM. I figured out how to do it using the the ServiceNow Classic iPhone app and SN Asset & Configuration.
Will do the same on the new app (ServiceNow Agent) after the Madrid update.
Regards,
Robert
