Global Search Results in Service Operations Workspace Open in tab

We have a request to have the global search function in the Service Operations Workspace to function similar to the global search in the legacy agent workspace. 

 

Currently the global search results takes the whole window and navigates away from the Service Operations Workspace. Then when click a result, it opens the results in a new tab on the workspace, but the results are not able to navigate back to. You would have to use the back button in the browser to get back to the search results or re-enter your search to pull the results back up. 

 

Would like for the search box to open in a new tab to enter the search criteria. Then when clicking a result it opens in a new tab on the workspace and the search results tab is still present to navigate back to. 

 

Is this a possibility to change or create a global search feature for Service Operations Workspace to open in tabs and results in new tabs all within the workspace.

We have a similar request from our IT Service Desk who are used to using the Agent Workspace. Searching within the Agent Workspace retains the content in fields in an unsaved record, whereas in the Service Operations Workspace, it doesn't retain the content in those fields after searching, creating this new disjointed experience for our Service Desk team members. If anyone has details on how they've tackled or fixed this, I'd be very appreciative. ❤️
