How do I add stories and their child tasks on a free form visual task board? The free form visual task board only lets me add personal tasks (PTSK) on the board.

There are three options for how you can add cards to your freeform visual task board.

  1. Click Add Card: With this option you add a new card to one of your visual task boards. This will create a “Private Task Record”.

  2. Navigate to any Task List, e.g. Incidents: Select all incidents you want to add to your visual task board. With an action you can add all of these tasks to your selected board.

Tera, THank you for your answer. Is there a way to have the free form boards be data-driven?

There are 3 options for utilizing the VTB's:
Types of Visual Task Boards

Board type Description

Freeform boardsDisplay all types of task records, including personal tasks. Members of freeform boards can add and remove task cards and lanes.

Freeform boards are indicated with the Freeform board icon

.

Flexible boardsDisplay tasks that match a filter against a particular table. Members of flexible boards can add task cards. Cards are removed automatically when the tasks no longer match the filter conditions. Members can define custom lanes, similar to a freeform board.

Flexible boards are indicated with the Flexible board icon

.

Guided boardsSimilar to flexible boards except that guided board lanes correspond to field values and cannot be edited in most cases.

Guided boards are indicated with the Guided board icon

The Flexible Board option would be your go to solution I would assume.

Our ServiceOperations instance only has the Free Form and Data Driven board options to choose from. There isn't a choice to create a Flexible board.
