In the past, I created a lot of dashboard or UI Page customs to allow the Agent to search/analyze in a single page all information necessary to answer and resolve fast the issue.
Today I can move Dashboard/UI pages to Now Experience, implementing the single page with "UI Builder".
With the new UI Builder capability, you can create a modern web-based user experience using new reusable components.
You can create a Workspace or a Portal using components pre-build or your custom components.
Below are the steps I suggest to start implementing your solution for your customer:
- Gathering the information on how to create a Prototype. Look at the example in the other sites in your industry.
- Attend the training on the nowlearning.servicenow.com (UI Builder Fundamentals (San Diego)) and the developer.servicenow.com (UI Builder).
- Gathering the information you need to implement for your customer. Below are minimal steps:
- Identify what are the roles that need to use Now Experience on a single page and the capability for each role.
- Collect what is the information the role needs on a single page. For example, how many tickets were opened for the employee in the last month, the End User's Satisfaction.
- Collect the actions the role needs to do on a single page. For example, create a new Incident, create an interaction to record the call, or open a modal pop-up to allow the creation of an Incident filling minimal fields to speed up the issue creation.
- Create a prototype with your customer. There are a lot of free tools to create a prototype. Usually, I try to propose a slide in PowerPoint, and I work with my customer to do the code design together.
- Finally, Start to create a simple page implementing minimal requirements.
- Tadam! The job is done!
- Expand the New Experience with your customer.
