Accessing KBs in Service Portal - where Knowledge Base is NOT listed in Related List

Well, that's a really long subject line...

Hi all,

Let me describe my issue.  How long have you got?  We have a Service Portal with Knowledge as the only thing listed in the KB Related List on the SP Portal.  What I would like to do is create a new Knowledge base, where the articles contained in there are accessible via the portal, but NOT searchable via the portal.  Make sense?

The use case is having a lot of info about a catalogue item - so I can link to the associated KB on the alternate Knowledge base, but that article doesn't appear in searches and muddies up the waters...

Because the Knowledge base is not listed as part of the SP Portal, the attached message is displayed when I try to access the article...  via the SP Portal.

Clear as mud?  Of course, using SharePoint or another document repository would be easier, but I'm looking for a ServiceNow base solution.

Thoughts?  Ideas?

Cheers,
Paul

Hi P Sailland

you would need to link this created knowledge base to your service portal.

Currently it is, so to say, not in scope and therefore not searchable or accessible from Service portal.

Navigate to All > Service Portal > Portal > select your active service portal/ESC.

Under Related Records, check Knowledge Base Tab. By clicking edit, add the target knowledge base.
