Hope you are doing well!!
I was going through your response which you have posted below and based on that below are my suggestion:
1) If your variable is not referring to CI Tables and requirement is based on selection of certain variable on your catalog form you need to map the CI. I assume here that you need a particular CI to be set when a value of variable is say X.
And say if Value of Variable is Y then a different CI need to be set. If this is for just one or 2 combination then you can hard code the CI IN your Flow Designer.
But say if you need a dynamic mapping then suggestion would be to design it in a better way and for that you need to share the use case here properly.
Based on initial assumption you can use a Conditional Logic as shown below:
Final Flow Sample only will look like below.
Say Use IF Value of that Variable is check then use Update Record and update the Configuration item field as you need.
Else if Value of Variable is Y then use Update record again as shown below:
