Need to create a interactive filter in dashboard

Hi All,

 

We have a list report in a dashboard under alm_hardware table and user need to search the report by assigned to person. So please help me to setup this interactice filter as I am new to this.

Do you want it to be able to pick only ONE assigned to, or multiple at once?  Once you decide that its pretty straight forward.  LOTS of examples OOB, so just go to interactive filters and search for "assignment"

 

1.  Go to Reports -> Interactive Filters

2.  Fill out the form

3.  Build out the Interactive Filter References.  Think of this as "which user field on which table do you want to be hte basis for the filter"

4.  Go to your dashboard and add an interactive filter

5.  once you place hte Interactive Filter on the Dashboard, click its widget settings (gear icon).  Make sure you tell it to act like an Interactive filter (yeah I know this is weird)

6.  Now go through teh settings of all the reports on the dashboard that you WANT to be filtered by this filter.  Make sure you click "Follow Interactive Filter".  If you don't, then the report will ignore your filter.
