Request Item "Printer Friendly Version" showing all variables, including variables set to non-visible.

I'm trying to alter the printer friendly version on my request items to show only the variables fields visible on the Request Item, and not hidden variables that are marked hidden on the form due to various UI Policies. When you view the printer friendly version, it shows every variable that exists on the form, regardless of the UI policies that are hiding them in the Request.

Does anyone know whether or not this is something we have control over? How can I have the print friendly versions display only the variables that I want viewed on the Item?

Hello Kevin.

In general printer friendly version is used as a workaround to the fact that export to pdf does not contain variables.

ServiceNow KB: Export to PDF does not include variables (KB0553606)

Maybe you could try the export to pdf?

We're looking for a way to show variables in the print, but not the variables that are set to non-visible with UI policies. Export to PDF will show us no variables at all.

You can create a new view with the variables and any other fields you want to display. Then you can create a UI action to display that printer friendly version of that view. You can also have it download as a pdf.

Macros is also an option
