Upgrade Patch Release Not Available

Scenario: Recently upgraded a Utah Dev and Utah QA/Test instance to Vancouver Patch 5. About 2 weeks later when UAT completed, went to schedule Prod to upgrade to Vancouver Patch 5. However, during the 2 weeks prior, Patch 6 was released and Patch 5 was no longer available. We didn't realize this until we were ready to schedule and proceed with upgrading Production.

Question: Is there a way to be notified when a Patch release is deemed unavailable?

We decided to move forward with Patch 6, accepting the low risk associated with upgrading to a different patch release than UAT was conducted on. However, it was a surprise when the Patch target was no longer available. If we knew sooner, we may have restarted UAT on Patch 6 and proceeded.

Thanks!
