If we go with usual terms

Retire - Platform was in use but will not be used again

Suspend - Platform is made unavailable but will be or can be used again

Hi Ahmed,

Following Blog may be of help in explanation.

A user can schedule an instance to be "retired". An instance scheduled to be retired will be in "suspended" state. A user may cancel retiring an instance or reschedule retirement date when the instance is in a suspended state. After a period of time (30 days), suspended instance will be retired. User would not be able to revert back a retired instance. A user would have to contact Now Support if there is a need to revert back an retired instance from backup.

  • All instances will be Suspended on requested date and will be in suspended state for 30 days before being marked as Retired.
