What is "Knowledge Use"?

ServiceNow Knowledge Management has a canned report called "Knowledge Use." I run it and look at it every week, but it is not at all clear to me what triggers a knowledge interaction being added to this table, especially since in most cases the value in the "Used" field is FALSE.
What the heck is this report showing me?

Hi Chuck,
Thank you for your help. So would it be right to say:
"1 entry on kb_use with "Viewed" set to true = 1 time a user saw that article?"
Even if the user accesses more than once to the same article?
Then if I crossmatch the data on "kb_use" with the Events table for Name=kb.view, would it be the same?
