What is the difference between the "category" field and the "kb_category" field on the kb_knowledge table? Both are labeled as "Category".
The "kb_category" field is the one that's on the kb_knowledge form by default, so it appears that "category" isn't used at all. "kb_category" is a reference field, while "category" is a string field.
I'm thinking that "category" is a legacy field that has just never been removed, but I was hoping that somebody with more information about the history can give me more details.

Hi Randall,
The kb_category field is the field used in the knowledge form to set the multi-tier categorization of a knowledge article:
Define a knowledge article category
The legacy Knowledge v2 "category" field is no longer used:
All things Upgrade considered on Knowledge v2 to v3
Please, if this answer is relevant for you, please mark it as correct and helpful.
Thanks,

Thanks! I was mainly looking for confirmation that "category" was a legacy field, and you did that. I appreciate it.
