Dynamic filtering on embedded list

Is it possible to dynamic filter the content of an embedded list? I created a relationship through System Definition -> Relationships, and I added it to my form. This lists several records, which I'd like to filter whenever I want. This is not a static filter in the relationship query, but basically be able to filter the list.

You can always adjust the query within the related list, but I guess that is not what you're looking for?

Nope.. I'm already filtering within the query, but since it displays 500+ records I'd like to be able to filter it, just like we filter in the standard forms. 
I'm sending a print of my list and what I'd like to achieve.

Hi Peter, no, it is not the query within the related list, I want to be able to further filter it down when the data is listed in the form. Is it possible? See screenshots a sample of the search fields in the column headers and this option missing in my custom list.
