I began my ServiceNow career journey during a 12-month boot camp where I was trained to become a ServiceNow developer. I earned my ITIL Foundation in ITSM and ServiceNow CSA certifications during the boot camp. I was accepted into their paid apprenticeship program sponsored by one of their partners which led to my full-time role with that company. Once I got hired, I was placed on a project that was not ServiceNow, but instead, my job was more focused on telecommunications which I hated. I got laid off from the company after two years. I have been applying for ServiceNow roles for several months. No company ever gave me the time or day when it comes to submitting applications and resumes. I had no luck with a career coach. My only experience in ServiceNow was the boot camp and the apprenticeship. I'm tired of wasting my time and energy looking for roles while no one is taking me seriously. What can I do to get my foot in the door?

Unless you're willing to sacrifice your integrity and pad your resume with lies, you'll probably not get a job in this market. Nobody will hire a candidate without verifiable professional experience, and I'm another person in the same boat. Frankly, it's a game stacked against us, and we can apply to as many positions as we want and never even get a screening call. Four years and going and I've gotten one call for a position I applied to that was entry level and far beneath me, despite having a masters degree and experience in the field. You can be a great person, have succeeded in academic environments, and very likely would excel in the positions you apply for, but it doesn't matter unless we either sacrifice our values or do things that are out of our nature, ie "networking." It's not us, it's the system.
As for me, I'll keep floating, getting stupid credentials, from a series 65 to the CSA, and I'll very likely never get hired unless I accept being an Amazon fulfillment associate packing boxes into trucks. I'm tapped out too, buddy.
Try volunteering. I've done it for years and never gotten anywhere, but maybe you'll be successful. Funny how we can do everything for everyone else, but when it comes to our own well being, nobody extends an opportunity.
Cheers to being unemployed and circling the drain. Getting up in the morning becomes a chore 😃

I'm sad to hear this. I've just started my ServiceNow certification process. What is the consensus of the SN job market for newly certified people? I've got tons of telecom, data warehouse, analyst, and web development experience. Should I keep training or try something else?
