Looking for a job or advice as Certified Application Developer+Certified System admin in ServiceNow

Hi,

I am looking for some career guidance. I had applied with a job with a company that is a ServiceNow partner and although I have workforce experience as a ServiceNow admin, they want people I believe with the Certified Implementation Specialist.

I was making ~$110K base, and not looking to drop salary to a junior position as I'm later in my career. So I would consider contracts I guess to move things along if necessary, but prefer full-time.

I'm not too familiar with CIS, but I did see some concepts that seem like its project / people management, which isn't necessarily something I am interested in, although I am okay to coordinate with stakeholders, I rather be on the technical side.

I know there is a lot I have to learn on the CIS related certifications/learning : e.g. service mapping, discovery, HAM,SAM ...

What are the most relevant CIS certifications if any that you'd suggest I pursue?

Is there a place aside from Linkedin and searching the keyword of "ServiceNow" that you suggest I should try?

Also I'm wondering if you guys like even when not having a job would rather wait a few months for a ServiceNow job, or just accept a job in tech that pays about the same and move on. I have PowerBI/VBA/ Microsoft Excel skills etc where I've been able to land decent jobs.

The job market has definitely changed in recent years and asides having a CSA or CAD certification, most organizations want people to have knowledge or experience in specific ServiceNow product modules like ITSM, HRSD, SPM, FSM, Discovery etc hence the CIS requirement which certifies you as being able to implement these modules in a project setting either as a Developer, Admin or even Business Analyst.

Asking for the most relevant CIS certifications is relative as the requirements differ per company and what project they are currently implementing in their organization. You can go through the partner finder site and filter either by industry or product to see what product line organizations are implementing and you can decide from there. Example, if your goal is to work in Deloitte, right now they implement three products - ITSM, CSM and HRSD so you know that in other to get a chance, you would have to get a CIS cert in any of the three products.
