I came across a requirement to store the USD value corresponding to the local currency value added on the form. So, initially we thought of scripting the logic but amazingly, ServiceNow has smarter options to do so. sharing the same here.

ServiceNow has FX Currency field which stores the Reference Amount and Reference Currency in backend for reference. All you need to do is:

1. Create FX Currency field on your record. It will look and feel like standard Currency field, where you will have multiple options of currency to select from. Note: These options correspond to the active records of Currency table.

2. Create FX Currency Configuration record. In that, important fields to control the conversion is the field in Currency tab, where you specify the Reference Currency to which you want to convert the value and the Rate tab, where you specify the table which should be used to fetch the exchange rates.
3. Then, you are done. Just bring the dot-walked fields from your FX currency field on form - Reference amount, Reference Currency. These will show the converted values for the specified currency.

Mark it helpful, if it is so. 🙂
