I am experiencing a similar issue.  I created my first ever developer instance today and upon launching I’m getting an error message that my AES license is missing.  @Dr Atul G- LNG ’s comment seems relevant.

Hi @everett_BRSPD

Follow these steps:

No need to worry.

  1. Log back into developer.servicenow.com

  2. Go to your profile

  3. On the left side, open the Instance Recreate section

  4. Select Change User Role

  5. Change the user role from AES to Admin

  6. Save your changes

  7. Log out and then log back into your PDI instance

when my developer instance was created, I only received aes.creator as a user name and a password for that user.  I did not receive a separate password for admin.

That happened to me as well, not sure if it is for the latest version to automatically get "lesser" rights, but you can request it from your profile at Developer site:

Hi @MadhavThorat ,

Developer Instance is undergoing unscheduled maintenance. Get notified when your PDI is available.

Yes, PDIs can be a bit tricky—they hibernate often, but it’s great that ServiceNow provides them at no cost. If you're having trouble waking it up, I’ve found that logging in via the Developer site is faster than using the direct /login.do page.

Just a heads-up: there’s no official support for PDIs, so if it’s down, waiting a day or two usually helps. And don’t forget to back up your update sets regularly to avoid data loss!

If this helps, feel free to mark it as Helpful or Accept as Solution—it supports both the community and me! 🙌

Thank you
Chandan
