Our April session of Last Thursdays with SPM featured Greg Sahnd, Advisory Solution Consultant and Lilly Souksamlane, Sr. Product Marketing Manager, who introduced the new Enterprise Architecture Workspace. As always, if you missed this webinar, you can watch the recording on our Last Thursdays with SPM playlist.
Lilly and Greg began with a discussion of the current market landscape, trends and what they’ve been hearing from enterprise architects about how their organizations’ application estate supports the business.
They focused on key factors driving the need for application modernization including:
- Multiple systems of record – resulting in poor data quality; and difficulties making accurate decisions about whether to invest, sustain, migrate or retire applications
- Escalating costs – due to application proliferation and duplication;
- Increasing risk - from out-of-date applications and greater levels of technical debt;
- Misalignment – struggle to maintain an application portfolio that supports business strategy.
Next was a hands-on with a demo of our new Enterprise Architecture Workspace. Greg provided a look at the extensive capabilities including scorecards, approvals, insights, and health metrics that empower enterprise architects to meet business needs while reducing technology portfolio cost and risk -all in a modern user experience.
Lilly concluded the presentation with an overview of our Application Portfolio management strategy, with emphasis on reducing costs, mitigating risks, and enhancing usability. She pointed out that given the many constraints being applied to resources in this challenging economy, the importance of creating faster time to value has never been higher!
Compatible with both our Tokyo and Utah releases, Enterprise Architecture Workspace is helping enterprise architects gather critical insights across the application, business, and technology portfolio. It’s available today in the ServiceNow store at store.servicenow.com.
