Adding a UI button to the global header in the Next Experience

Hello,

 

We are in the process of implementing SPM.  There has been an ask to add a button to the global header that on-click will route the user to our service portal. I am able to add it as a menu option, but im hoping to make it a UI action.  Is this possible?
