Currently the Allocation Workbench is Sorted/Grouped by Task and then Resource Group. So when you expand a Task you see all of the Requests for the different Groups. Is there a way to change this Workbench so that it is Sorted/Grouped by Resource Group and then Task? What I want to be able to see is for any specific group what the Planned, Confirmed and Allocations are and then drill into the individual projects if needed.

Hi
To filter a certain group, user, role in the workbench, use the top grid filters (top left below the board name) then perform drilldown tasks.
Using Resource Finder, you can also see a group user's requested, confirmed, and allocated hours and you can drill down to tasks to obtain more details.
If my answer was able to solve your query please mark it as Helpful & Correct.
Thanks,
Abhinay Kumar Nandagiri.

Abhinay,
Thanks for the response and I was aware of this ability but does not really provide what I am looking for. What I would like to be able to do is to see at a Group level all Resource Plans that are in a planning state so that I can see on a monthly/weekly basis if we have capacity in each groups to support the request that "may" be coming.
So if the work bench was sorted by Group first instead of Project, I could see for the Analyst Group that there are Resource plans for 100 manhours in Oct 22 and then I could use to Resource Finder to see if we have 100 manhours free.
The way it is not I have to look at each project and see if there is a Resource Plan for that group and then add them all up manually to know that I need 100 manhours. At times we have 175 projects in the planning stage determining how many manhours may be needed from each group on a monthly/weekly basis is a matter of looking at all 175 of those projects, list all the groups planned with the hours and add them all up. Then I can look at the resource finder to each groups to see if there is going to be availability. Then go back to the project teams and tell them if there are shortages so they adjust their plans and the manual process starts all over.
So again was just hoping there would be a way to look that the Allocation Workbench by Group vs By Project.
As and example the below images short of show what I see today and what I was hoping to be able to show.
This show basically what I see today. Three projects each need resources from the BA and Dev teams. For me to know how much of each I have to expand each project and see if the group is needed.
What I would like to see if below by group, which is much easier to see how much of each groups is going to be need when.
Thx

Hi Richard,
Thank-you for asking this question. We have Resource Management implemented but I have not used the Allocation Workbench because I have found it frustrating to use due to the issues with the date filters and having to expand every project to see any of the data. With San Diego, the date filters have been updated which will help, but from a process perspective when managing my team, I look at a report that I built in ServiceNow along with a spreadsheet (see screenshot) to pull all the information together. It can be redundant at times, but it is great to have a "1-pager" to look at for the 16 project managers on our team.

Thank you, I assume that we would have to build reports. We are not currently using RM but are considering it and so far main concern is reporting. All the data is there but as often is the case I have found with ServiceNow seem to stop short in giving you all the reporting that you need to make that data useful as it could be, so you have to create your own.
