Allow Project Managers to Edit Confirmed/Allocated Hours in Resource Workbench (Project Workspace)

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some guidance around enabling users with the project_manager role to edit the Confirmed/Allocated (Conf/Alloc) column within the Resources tab in Project Workspace (Planning Console / Resource Workbench).
I understand that best practice is to update Planned Hours rather than Allocated and that modifying allocation directly is generally not recommened, however due to a business requirement, we need PMs to be able to edit the Allocated Hours field themselves.

The primary recommendation is to keep PMs working with Planned Hours and requests, while Resource Managers own Allocated Hours but if business requirement is strict (PMs must edit Allocated Hours)
Implement a controlled customization:
Update ACLs or Workspace column permissions to allow the project_manager role to edit Allocated Hours.
Add audit logging so changes are tracked.
Consider a notification workflow to alert Resource Managers when PMs make direct edits.
This way, you meet the requirement but mitigate risks by adding governance.

Thakns for the reply and yes I understand that creating an ACL is the way to go however I am asking for some assistance in getting this to work as I have tried this several ways and it is not working
