Allow subtask out of parent task schedule in proiect workspace

Hi,

as a project manager I want to add subphases (child tasks) to the project ganth chart in the plannign section without changing the parent phase (parent task). This is because phases are planned first and detailled sub phases will be planned afterwards. 

In the planning console, on the preference tab, I was abel to change the calculation to manual. This would do the trick. But this doe not work in the project workspace. 

How do I allow the sub tasks outside the parent task schedule in the project workspace?

so, my client was using the calculation = manual al the time in the project workbench. Problem is, now they use the project workspace and it is not working the same. What can be done, that I have the same bevahior in the project workspace as in the project workbench. Thank you

Hi, I try again. The calculcation=manual in the project workbench allows the childtask out of the parent task schedule. We need the same function in the project workspace but there the calculation = manual works different .What can be done, so that cildtask can be outside the parent task schedule? Thank you.
