Hello,

when using PLANNING CONSOLE and CREATING AGILE PHASES, I'm not able to create user stories in the agile phase. (ss below).

Question1: How can I create user stories inside an agile phase?

Question2: Is there any workaround to create user stories in planning console and attach them to a task/agile phase?

You won't be able to add stories directly from your agile phase task.  Instead, if you go to Project Details, as long as you have your Execution type set to Hybrid or Agile, you should see a related list for Stories.  From there, you should be able to add stories to your project.

Note that you are able to associate stories to a project without having an Agile phase at all.  I believe the Agile phase is there solely as a way to roll up progress from associated stories.

Note also, that, by default, if you add a Story to the project from this interface using the New button, the default form view will include a mandatory "Team" field, used for Enterprise Agile Planning.  For those of us that haven't migrated over to use that yet, this is a bit of a deal-breaker and we have to go to different interfaces to add stories.

Hello, thanks for your answer. Based on your feedback, can you clarify:

- which is the added value of including an AGILE PHASE in a project (compared to STANDARD TASK) , assumed that is not mandatory to have agile phases to be able to create stories?

- when should we include AGILE PHASE in the PLANNING CONSOLE? is there some precise cases in which they are needed even though the project is already set as "hybrid" or "agile".

- what should be included in the PLANNING CONSOLE as best practice? only the activities of the plan/project WITHOUT the stories (assuming the stories should be created in the "DETAILS" view outside the planning console) ?

One more question :

- which is the difference between "add story" and "new"?
