Dates tab on Project form, some are red and some are read only what is the logic?

Hi All,

 

I see two projects with execution type Agile: both looks similar as they got epic, issues record in related list. But for one of the record the planned end date is editable but for another planned end date is read only and it says, "record has children so this field is calculated from child values". I don't see what child record it has, as the other project also got a epic in related list.

 

Can someone point me how and what condition these date fields become read only or sometimes red as well.

Hi @Chandler2 ,

If a Project has any Project Task or Sub Project, then Planned Start/End date filed is non-editable. 

The Planned Start/End date field of project is set based on it's Project Task/Sub Project's Planned start/end date. It aggregates from all of its dependent and set the min planned start date and max planned end date to the Top Task/Project.
