Hi,

Releases:-

Releases are created by a product owner and contain user stories, sometimes from multiple products, that form the release backlog.

A release is bounded by start and end times and is used to organize the effort of the release teams working on user stories. Typically, the product owner creates the release teams and decides when the release is complete enough for delivery to a customer. A release can use multiple teams.

Release Management:-

The Release Management application handles releases using the task record system. Each planned feature is generated through various means as a task record, populated with the pertinent information in individual fields. These tasks can be assigned to appropriate release management team members, who deal with the tasks as appropriate until the release has been properly deployed.

Release Management can be effectively used to coordinate releases as a vehicle for planning releases, composed of individual features. Once a release is finalized, a Change Item can be generated (using a custom-built UI Action), allowing the implementation and deployment of a release to be handled within the change management process.

Thanks,

Snehal.
