How would you go about exporting Test Suites/Test Cases from one instance to another? I started to create a test suite with test cases in my personal dev instance before we upgraded to Fuji (for a temporary repository) and now I would like to migrate them to my company's instance. This way others can contribute and work with the test cases.

Hi Christie, I believe you have to go the administrative route and export Test Suite and Test Cases as separate XML files. After you import them on the target instance, test cases will show under the correct test suite. Test assignees should also be imported as long as the users are valid users on the target instance. Hope this helps.

Thanks Anna. I could not find a explicit Export to XML from the Test module itself, but you got me thinking. I did find a link for exporting data to different file types and managed to export the raw data to XML via the URL. It's a little tedious as there is erroneous data in the file but I can clean that manually.

Hi Christie, I'm able to right-click one of the column headers in Test Cases or Test Suites and select Export > XML. Then I repeat the process to right-click and select Import XML on the target instance. I haven't looked at the data but it appears everything comes over as it needs to, no cleanup needed, so maybe you can try this to see if you get around the tedious part.

Christine -
John Anderson has written a utility that allows for bulk data export. This may be useful also.
