How are planned dates and approved dates calculated from demand to project?

How are planned date and approved dates calculated?

 

We're implementing SPM and converting Demands into Projects. We noticed that Planned Start Dates in project (mapped from Demand) start at 00:00:00 instead of 08:00:00 as defined by the set default management schedule.

 

I wanted to see if anyone knew how this was configured so we can be sure we're following the best practices and not requiring our users to configure the dates manually.

Updating the schedule is a 2 step process: 

 

First - 

Updating the System Property 'com.snc.project.default_schedule'

  1. Navigate to sys_properties.list
  2. Filter for name= com.snc.project.default_schedule
  3. Update value to include the schedule sys_id you wish to update to (Naturally, you will need to copy the sys_id of the schedule you wish to use)

 

Second - 

Updating the Default value of the 'schedule' Dictionary Entry(field)

  1. Right-click on the Schedule field on any Project (right-click the actual text 'Schedule')
  2. Configure Dictionary
  3. Select the 'Default Value' section
  4. Update the sys_id value for the Variable 'defaultProjectScheduleId'
