Hi All,
When a project task is closed, its percent complete becomes 100% and rolls up to the parent. But how is percent complete calculated when the task is still in progress? For example, if the planned duration is 4 days and 1 day has passed, should the task percent complete be 25%? How does this work out-of-the-box?
Thanks!

Hi @pramodkumar ,
Out‑of‑the‑box behavior: Only sets 100% when closed.
No automatic 25% after 1 day of 4 unless you customize.
Roll‑up logic: Parent tasks/projects aggregate based on child task values, but those values must be updated manually or via rules.
ServiceNow does not calculate percent complete automatically based on elapsed time. It’s either manual or set to 100% when closed. If you want “1 day out of 4 = 25%,” you’ll need to configure a business rule or use effort‑based tracking in SPM.
