Hi Team,

We are new to the ITBM but we want to use time card and time card functionality in our instance. We tried using that but we have few queries.

1. How rate type is attached to the time card and time worked ?

2. After approving time card Expense line auto generated . So what is the next step part for this ? and What is the use of expense line state ?

Thanks and regards

@Rakhesh

Welcome to ITBM community,

1. How rate type is attached to the time card and time worked ? - Its simple - Rate type is used to categorise different types of work. Eg - Overtime, Night shift, Holiday, etc. In OOTB Rate Type field is in the Labor Rate Cards form, Time Worked form, Time Card form, and Time Sheet Portal.

  • You can use rate types to create separate rate lines for given category for example - if person working in night shift his cost will be 200$/hour.
  • You can submit timesheet under given rate types

2. After approving time card Expense line auto generated . So what is the next step part for this ? and What is the use of expense line state ?

1. Thanks for explaining the Rate Type process. But I want to know the logic(script) behind the Rate type .

When I click on start button on catalog task, time cards are generated automatically with standard rate type. I want to know how these are attaching automatically?

Example : If agent spending more hrs on the project task so rate type should not be standard rate type and if he generate time cards overtime rate type should be attach with that.

So how it manages these cases ?

And how task rate cards are working ?
