How to update the Cost Type automatically created in Cost Plan from Resource Plan

When I create a Resource Plan, the corresponding Cost Plan that is created is automatically assigned a Cost Type of "Labor Capex".  Does anyone know where I would go to change this default?  I want it to default to another one of the Cost Type options.

Thank you.

Rajesh,

Any chance you can provide a screen shot to show where that is located?

Thank you

Tim, here you go...

Check some screenshots

Go to Resource plan right click on header and go to business rule (it will show all the business rules on that resource table as below

find_real_file.png

Open The Advance section of this business rule and you will see two script include RMCostPlanHelper and CostPlan

If you explore these two script include, you will surely get an answer on how to change default cost type.

Do mark this as correct and helpful, if you this helped you in any manner.

Thank you!

another possibility is to create a BR on costplan creation and set your cost type for costplan related to resource plan

Hi Tim,

In most of the cases resource plans are intended for planning labor resources and that why the default makes sense as Labor cost type only. What is your use case here to change the cost type.

Also if this is one of a kind change, then after the cost plan is created you should be able to edit the cost type.
